Friday Dances will resume March 26th.
Due to loosening restrictions, Tanking infection rates (Especially in this area), AND more people getting vaccinated, the Friday Night Dances at the Polish Home in Windsor Locks will Temporarily begin again after a one year hiatus. I say temporarily only because there is rent to pay and if the numbers are not there, I no longer have the funds to support the dances out of pocket. If we get a minimum of 25-30 people, I can justify making this permanent. Technically I could have started Friday 03/19 … but I don’t trust the government not to change the rules at the last minute.
Obviously masks, as well as all other recommended precautionary measures will be in place. I have a supply of REAL, USA Made, NOISHA approved N-95* masks which are quite comfortable. *NOT the lesser KN-95 masks. These cost me roughly $3 each, so if you need one, they will be available as long as they last. ALSO … NO MASKS WITH EXHAUST PORTS !!!!
It also appears I will need to replace a couple of staff members. Those who are interested, talk to me at one of the dances. I’ll go over expectations and what benefits you get in return.
Lastly … for all of you who have an “Opinion” that you would like to share about this decision … Don’t. Your post will be deleted and/or you will be removed from the group. Personally, I have been vaccinated and my comfort level is such with restarting the dance now. There will be no judgements regarding who attends and who doesn’t. The numbers will tell whether I made the right decision or not.
A re-scheduled date for 2021 Swingin’ Into Spring will be announced soon.
Temporary Schedule
- Beginner/Novice Lesson 7-8PM
- Dance 8PM-11PM – Rules still say we must close by 11PM
I will be open to guest DJ's and instructors, but there may not be much in the way of $$$ available just yet. We'll see what happens.
